Course Objectives This course objective is to educate individuals in the fields of collective labour law and social security law.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The students who succeeded in this course; -Will be able to explain legal notions related to collective labour law
  • Will have comprehensive knowledge about employer and employee organisations, employer and employee foundations, their functioning and their termination.
  • Will know about the process of collective bargaining and will be able to draft a collective agreement
  • Will gain expertise about labour disputes, strike and lock-out
Course Description The content of this course is generally notions, rules and institutions related to collective labour law and social security law. Related to collective labour law: right to association, notion of syndicate, historical development process of trade unions in Turkey and internationally, nation and international sources of collective labour law, right to establish trade unions, foundation, association and functioning of employer, employee and public unions, labor negotiations, collective employment relationship, labour disputes, its rules and process, notions of strike and lock-out, its rules and legal process, collective bargaining, its legal characteristics and field of application. Related to social security law: right to social security, its content, principles, rules and organization of social security, notion of social insurance, types of social insurance, historical development of social insurance in Turkey and internationally.
