Course Objectives This course aims to teach basic notions of forensic medicine, legal arrangements, forensic medicine practices, forensic documents, basic terminology and definitions.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The students who succeeded in this course; - Will have knowledge about forensic expertise and forensic institutions at national level
  • Will have knowledge about legal, moral and medical principles of forensic expertise
  • Will have knowledge about doctors' legal liabilities
  • Will be informed about the medical approach to various and specific cases
  • Will have general knowledge about the limits of medical science and doctors
  • Will have knowledge about the domestic violence and Istanbul Convention
  • Will be informed about child abuse and related national and international legal framework
  • Will be informed about forensic examination of sexually harassed people
  • Will apprehend forensic autopsy, post-mortem methods and Minnesota Autospy Protocol
  • Will have knowledge about human rights violations and Istanbul Protocol
  • Wil have knowledge about forensic psyciatry, injuries and identification.
Course Description Definition of forensic medicine, forensic procedure, forensic examination, human rights violation, loss of labour force, torture, child abuse, sexual crimes, family violence, medical malpractice, addiction, death, firearm wounds and accidents, crime scene investigation, massive deaths, poisoning, children and children rights and medical ethics will be covered during this course.
