Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach students the basic principles of transportation law, relevant legislation and case law, and to make students familiar with the problems they may encounter in practice by making practical studies.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students who successfully complete this course will be able to; • Determine the principles of the Law of Transport
  • assess the resources of Turkey and the world in transport law
  • Evaluate the land transport (goods and passengers) with national and international dimension
  • Evaluate the maritime transport (goods and passengers) with national and international dimension
  • Evaluate the air transport (goods and passengers) with national and international dimension
  • Evaluate the railway transportation (goods and passengers) with national and international dimension
  • Evaluate the pipeline transportation, investigation of multimodal transport, investigation of basic properties of transport insurance
Course Description The concept of transportation law and its scope. Types of transport; road, sea, waterway, airway, railway, pipelines. National and international sources of transportation law. The order of provisions applicable to the Transport Law. International transport of goods; concept, elements, documents used, documents proving the contract of carriage, sub-carriage and real carriage contracts, multiple carriage, parties of carriage agreements, third parties, transportation intermediaries, obligations of the parties, legal and dispute resolution disputes in transportation disputes.
