Course Objectives The object of this course is to enable students to have information on sources and basic concepts of civil law and its sub sections and law of persons which is one of the sub sections.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to describe the basic concepts of civil law.
  • Will be able to describe sub sections of civil law.
  • Will be able to explain basic principles of law of persons.
  • Will be able to discuss the concept of personal rights and the defence methods to be used in assaults on personal rights.
  • Will be able to explain the difference between the capacity to have rights and capacity to act.
Course Description Main content of the course is basic principles of civil law and law of persons. The notion of 'person' and 'personality' in terms of comparative law, natural persons and legal persons (associations and foundations), capacity to have rights, capacity to act in law and act of injustice, assaults in personal rights, protection of personality and protection of private life and human's dignity, name, kinship and habitation, register of births, deaths and marriages are examined.
