Research Assistant Ezgi Arslan got his Bachelor's Degree from Faculty of Law at Ankara University in 2012. She started Master's study on Public Law at Institute for Social Sciences in Ankara University in 2014 and completed with her thesis titled 'Law-Justice Relationship and the Role of the Judge in Derrida and Radbruch' in 2017. She continues her doctorate education in Ankara University Social Sciences Institute Public Law Doctorate Program, which she started in 2017. Her main areas of study are legal philosophy, sociology of law, political philosophy and human rights. She is fluent in English, German and French at beginner level.

Dr. Limoncuoglu was born in 1974 in Izmir, Turkey. After his graduation from Faculty of Law in 1996, he earned his MBA degree at Baruch College, CUNY. He also holds a Ph.D. degree in Labor Economics and Industrial Relations. He worked as a professional lawyer for 10 years and as a military judge for a year. In 2008 he became an Assistant Professor in Izmir University of Economics. He was the Director of Graduate School of Social Sciences until 2010. Currently he works in the Faculty of Law and his primary expertise is on labor law and social security law.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Akduman studied at İzmir Özel Türk Koleji (earned high school diploma) between the years of 1982 - 1989. She completed her undergraduate study at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Law, İzmir (earned LL.B. degree) between the years of 1989 - 1993. After completion of her legal internship in İzmir in 1994, she worked as a trainee and translator at P. D. Ryan & Co. Solicitors, London. She completed her postgraduate study in international and comparative law at Vrije University, Faculty of Law, Brussels by defending her thesis titled “Enforcement of Arbitration Agreements in International Transactions” (earned LL.M. degree) between the years of 1997 - 1998. During this period, she also did internship in the European Union Commission. She worked in İstanbul as a legal consultant at foreign partnerships and multinational companies, including Ernst & Young, and as a teaching staff member at Kadir Has University, Faculty of Law, Private International Law Department between the years of 1998 - 2010. She completed her postgraduate study in private law at Marmara University, Social Sciences Institute, İstanbul by defending her thesis titled “Share Transfers in Private International Law” (earned Ph.D. degree) between the years of 2004 - 2010. She worked as a freelance translator in New York while pursuing academic research between the years of 2010 - 2013. She was appointed as an assistant professor at İzmir University of Economics, Faculty of Law in 2013. Currently, she continues her academic studies in private international law and European Union law.

He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2020. Between 2020 and 2021, he completed his internship as a lawyer at Ankara Bar Association. In 2021, he started his postgraduate education in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Institute of Graduate Education. Postgraduate education is ongoing.

After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2012 and completing her legal internship at the Izmir Bar Association in 2013, she earned her master's degree in Public Law at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences in 2019 with her thesis titled "Jürgen Habermas on the Legitimacy of Civil Disobedience". Since 2019, she has been maintaining her PhD degree in Public Law at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences. She was invited as a doctoral visiting researcher by Tilburg University for the spring semester of 2023 within the scope of TUBITAK 2214-A International Research Fellowship Programme for PhD Students, and is still continuing her doctoral thesis study under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hans Lindahl at Tilburg Law School in the Netherlands. Philosophy and Sociology of Law are her main fields of study.

Melda Sur graduated from Strasbourg University Faculty of Law in 1975 (maîtrise). After working as assistant and teaching Labour Law at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Ankara University (Chair of Labour Law and Social Policy) from January 1980 to November 1986, she pursued her career in Izmir, Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law until her retirement from this University in 2020. Dr. Sur had obtained her Ph.D. (Dr. juris) title at Ankara University in 1984; associate professor (doçent) of Labour Law in 1990, and then professor in 1996. Prof. Dr. Sur served as head of the Labour and Social Security Department, head of the Department of International Law at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law, and head of the Private Law Section. She also was member of this University's Senate during two terms. Prof. Dr. Sur taught as a guest professor at the Bordeaux University "Comparative Labour Law" and "International Law". She is presently among the academic staff of the Izmir Economy University Faculty of Law. Member of the Turkish Association of Labour and Social Security Law, and of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law to which it is affiliated, Prof. Dr. Sur is member of the scientific board of the Revue de Droit comparé du travail et de la sécurité sociale. Fluent in French and English, Prof. Dr. M. Sur teaches and publishes both in the fields of Labour Law and International Law.

After graduating from İzmir Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Law in 1990, Dr Esra KATIMAN completed her post-graduate education at Robert Schuman University, Faculty of Law (Strasbourg, France) in 2006 with her Master’s thesis titled "Roma cases before European Court of Human Rights" under direction of Prof. Dr. Syméon KARAGIANNIS. She started her doctorate studies in 2007 and completed these studies in 2012 with her thesis (PhD) titled "Human Trafficking as a breach of Human Rights", thus receiving the title of Doctor of International Law from the Strasbourg University (Law). Esra KATIMAN started her professional career as an attorney (1991, İzmir), and went on to work as a reporter-lawyer for the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) between 2001 and 2005. During her tenure with the ECHR, she worked in the field of Human Rights Law. During this period of time at ECHR her main subjects of work consisted of performing legal researches which required expertise in International Law, examining appeal files, providing legal consultancy services to judges, and writing Court reports and project decisions in French, one of the two official languages of the Court. Assigned to serve as expert legal advisor in scope of Human Rights Law related projects of the European Council and the European Union in Turkey between 2005 and 2007, Esra KATIMAN has participated in seminars and lectured in conferences on subjects like "Human Rights Law," "Criminal Law and Human Rights," "Terror Offences and Human Rights," "Freedom of Thought and Opinion" and "International standards for penal institutions and detention institutions" in scope of these projects. As the first lawyer from Turkey to be accepted (on 26 October 2010) to List of Counsel before the International Criminal Court (The Hague-Netherlands), Att. Dr Esra KATIMAN is still a registered lawyer on this Counsellor/Lawyer List. Even though her main field of professional and academic work consists of International Law, International Criminal Law and Human Rights Law, Dr Esra KATIMAN is also very closely interested in other branches of private law with an international aspect.

Res. Asst. Afra Teren Gürlüler has graduated from Robert American College in 2013. In the same year, she has commenced her higher education at Koç University, Faculty of Law. She has completed her double major with International Relations Law Faculty in 2017. She has completed the legal internship at Istanbul Bar Association. She continues her studies of master’s thesis in Public Law at Galatasaray University, Graduate School. She has commenced working as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Law, Department of Constitutional Law in 2021. She has an advanced level of English and French. Constitutional Law is her main working area.

He was graduated from Kadikoy Anadolu High School in 2010. He got bachelor's degree from Faculty of Law at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2014. In 2018, he completed LLM program in Private Law which he started in 2015 at Izmir University of Economics. He has been a research assistant at Faculty of Law at Izmir University of Economics since 2016. He has been a Ph.D. student in private law at Bahcesehir University since 2018 September.

Arzu Aşçı was born in Austria in 1984. She was graduated from Gymnasium Schillerstrasse Feldkirch. She has received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in 2008 from Leopold Franzens University (İnnsbruck) Faculty of Law where she studied on a state scholarship. In 2008, she completed her law internship in Feldkirch Court. She has received her Ph.D in 2014 from Public Law Doctoral Program of Leopold Franzens University (İnnsbruck). She worked as an attorney in Liechtenstein Prosecution Office and Court, Chamber of Labourer, Administration of The Customs in Feldkirch/Wolfurt. She knows German language as Native language, English in advanced level and in intermediate French and Latin.

Professor Dr. Zeynep ŞİŞLİ, graduated from Ankara Halide Edip High School in 1976. She has been in USA for 1976-1977 school year as an AFS Exchange Student. She has received her Bachelors Degree in 1985 from Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Law. She worked as a lawyer between the years 1988-2009 in Izmir. She has received M.D in 2002 and Ph.D in 2007 from Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Department of Dokuz Eylül University. She worked as a Visiting Faculty member in Dokuz Eylül University and İzmir University of Economics. She has joined the Department of Business Administration in University of Economics as an assistant professor in 2009 and has been working at Faculty of Law since 2011. She has been promoted to associate professor degree on social policy by Inter-Universities Council of Turkey on April 15, 2015. She has appointed as a professor on March 30, 2021. She worked as a visiting researcher in University of California, Los Angeles, Institute for Research on Labor and Employment(UCLA IRLE)between September 20, 2016 and September 13, 2107 according to "the Regulation for Overseas Program of Izmir University of Economics" about "Roles of the Institutions and State Agencies for Promoting and Enforcing Occupational Health and Safety Rules; A Comparison between U.S.A. and Turkey", and has been awarded a grant by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey(TUBİTAK 2219). She works on Social Rights, Labor Law, Social Security Law and Occupational Health and Safety Law.

He was born on 18 October 2000 in İzmir. During middle school, he took part in the editorial and selection board of the school’s publication Ayraç Magazine and prepared numerous pieces of content for the magazine. After middle school, he began his secondary education at Buca Anatolian High School. During this period, he won first place in a short story competition on “Human Rights” organized by the Izmir Retired Officers’ Spouses Association. He played an active role in school ceremonies by serving as host and managing technical tasks, designed posters for the school theatre, and worked for a period as a stage director in the same theatre.

In this period, he also participated as the human resources manager in the “Junior Achievement Company Competition,” organized by TOBB and the Junior Achievement Foundation, with a company named “Jolly Fingers,” for which he coined the name. After graduating from high school in 2018, he was admitted the same year to Yaşar University Faculty of Law with a full scholarship. Between 2019 and 2022, he wrote numerous articles as a writer and editor for mutalaa.net, a website dedicated to legal articles and writings.

He presented papers in 2021 and 2022 at the 3rd and 4th Undergraduate Law Students Symposium organized by Beykent University International Law Club. In the winter term of 2022, he worked as an intern at the Constitutional Court. In the same year, he graduated first in his class from Yaşar University Faculty of Law. Following his graduation, he was accepted with a full scholarship into the Thesis-Based Private Law Master’s Program at Yaşar University. Since 2023, he has been working as a research assistant in the Department of Private International Law at Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Law.

After completing her undergraduate education at İzmir Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law in 1984, she started to work as a research assistant in the civil law department at DEU Faculty of Law in the same year. She completed her undergraduate and doctorate degrees in Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Private Law. She prepared her master's thesis on “Time-Sharing Property Rights” and her doctoral thesis on “Compensation of positive damage for the Debitor’s default in contract that imposes obligations on both parties.” During the writing of her doctoral thesis, she was a visiting scholar at the Westfaelische Wilhelms-University in Münster, Germany, under the auspices of Prof.Dr.Wlfried Schüter, within the framework of a 14-month research grant she received from the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD). Later on, she worked at the University of Münster to do post-doctoral research at the invitation of the DAAD institution. Prof. Havutcu was appointed as an associate professor at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 1999. After working at Galatasaray University for two years, DEU. She returned to the Faculty of Law and was promoted to professor at DEU Faculty of Law in 2006. Prof. Havutcu worked as a permanent staff at Izmir Yaşar University Faculty of Law between 2011-2021. During her academic life, she taught civil law at various universities such as Cyprus Near East University and Istanbul Bilgi University, in addition to the universities where she worked as a permanent staff. Since January 2022, she started to work as a permanent staff at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Law. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Havutcu's main areas of interest are Law of Obligations, Law of Liability, Family Law, Law of Persons, Law of Consumers, Law of General Transaction Conditions, Law of Version-Distribution Agreements and Systems, Producer's responsibility.

He got bachelor's degree from MEF University Faculty of Law in 2019. During his study, he participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot at University of Vienna and its pre-moots at University of Prague and University of Belgrade. He started his master's study on Public Law at Galatasaray University in 2020. He started to work as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics in 2021. He is fluent in English and he has an intermediate level of proficiency in Italian. His research area is Administrative Law and Administrative Litigation.

t Professor Mine Kasapoğlu Turhan got the bachelor's degree.from the Faculty of Law at Dokuz Eylul University in 2000. She worked as a research assistant between 2002-2011 at the Department of Administrative Law of Faculty of Law at Dokuz Eylul University. She completed LLM programme in public law at the same university in 2003 and her thesis subject was “Banking Regulatory and Supervisory Agency in Turkey (From the Administrative Law Perspective)”. In 2003, she started PhD Programme in public law. During the PhD programme, she carried out her research studies in consultation with Prof.Elisabeth Rynning at the Faculty of Law at Uppsala University in Sweden with the scholarship given by Swedish Institute (2007-2008). She completed PhD programme in 2010.

Assistant Professor Cem Özcan got the Bachelor degree from the Faculty of Law at Galatasaray University in 2001. He received Master Degree in 2002 at the University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and earned his PhD in 2009, from the University Paris 10 Nanterre, in France. He devotes most of his research to Civil Law and Law of Obligations in particular. He served as Asst.Prof.Dr at İstanbul Aydın University and İzmir University.

Res. Asst. Serenay Kara graduated from Bodrum Marmara College in 2016. In the same year, she commenced her higher education at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Law. She graduated with high honour degree in 2020. She completed the legal internship at Izmir Bar Association. In 2022, she graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Graduate School, Master's Program in Private Law, successfully defended her master's thesis. She is doing her doctorate in Private Law at Dokuz Eylul University, Graduate School of Social Sciences. She has been working as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Law, Department of Labour Law and Social Security Law since 2021. She has an advanced level of English and elementary level of French. Labour Law is her main working area.

Mehmet Akif Gül completed his undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law in 2011. In 2015, he defended his thesis titled `Procedural Enforcement Barrriers in accordance with the New York Conventinon of 1958` and got his Master’s degree at Galatasaray University Institute of Social Sciences, which he started in 2012. In 2021, he completed his PhD program in Private Law at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, which he started in 2016, by defending his doctoral thesis titled “Value in Dispute in Civil Procedure Law”. He speaks English and German and his main field of study is civil procedure and enforcement & bankruptcy law.

He was born in 1968 in İzmir Menemen. He finished İzmir Finance Vocational High School and Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences Department of Economics. He received the master degree in economics from the University of Colorado. He received the title of doctor with the thesis titled "Disguised Profit and Disguised Capital in Multinational Companies" from the Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Financial Law. This thesis was published in 2005 among the publications of the Ministry of Finance. His book titled “International Taxation” was published in 2014. He taught Public Finance, Money Theory and Money Policy courses at Yıldız Technical University and Hacettepe University. He teaches Financial Law courses at İzmir University of Economics. He started his career as Assistant Finance Inspector at Finance Inspectorate Board in 1989. Respectively he worked as Finance Inspector, Senior Finance Inspector, Head of Department and Assistant General Manager at General Directorate of Budget and Financial Control, and Financial Counsellor at Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the OECD (Paris). Since July 2017, He has started to work as a full-time faculty member at Faculty of Law at İzmir University of Economics. He provides consultancy for Halkbankkobi website tax department. He is working on international tax law, the effects of changes in the international tax system on the Turkish Tax System and taxation of the digital economy.
