The “Commercialization of Intellectual Property Panel,” organized by the IUE Faculty of Law, was held with the hosting of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce. The panel, themed “A Journey from Innovation to Value Creation,” brought together IUE Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Sevilay Uzunallı, İzmir Chamber of Commerce Board Member Nuray Eyigele İşleyen, İzmir Chamber of Commerce Secretary General Mustafa Tanyeri, and Ankara University Chair of Property Law and Director of the Research and Application Center for Intellectual and Industrial Rights, Prof. Dr. Arzu Oğuz

The 8th edition of the Criminal Law Days symposium series, organized annually by the Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Law, was held this year under the theme “Paul Johann Anselm Ritter von Feuerbach: A Cornerstone in the Construction of Modern Criminal Law.”

The AI-powered deepfake technology, which is used to create fake images and audio recordings by imitating a person’s face, voice, or movements, has become the subject of a book. 

Zeynep İrem Yörü and Hasan Can Özdemir, who graduated from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Law this year, have been awarded the ‘Jean Monnet’ scholarship, granted by the European Union to a select number of young people. 

Dr. Arzu AŞÇI, a faculty member at the Faculty of Law of İzmir University of Economics, presented her paper titled "'What Does Consent Legitimize?': A Comparative Analysis of the Concept of Consent in Sexual Offenses under Turkish, German, and Swiss Criminal Law" at the 20th Criminal Law Days held on June 1, 2025, at Istanbul Bilgi University, Santral Istanbul Campus.

Melisa CENGİZ, a student at IUE Faculty of Law, placed third in the article competition organized by the Law and Informatics Journal with her article titled "Tort Liability of Artificial Intelligence". She was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Dean of IUE Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Sevilay UZUNALLI.

The certificates of appreciation were presented to Zehra Doğa KERVANCI and Dila MAYDA, students of the IUE Faculty of Law who won first place in the Privacy Simulation competition organized by the European Law Students' Association (ELSA), by the Dean of the IUE Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Sevilay UZUNALLI.

The seventh session of the Criminal Law Days meetings, regularly organized by the Faculty of Law at İzmir University of Economics (İEÜ), where various judicial decisions are discussed, was held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in lecture hall E1.

In the meeting of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Workshop organized by the Faculty of Law at İzmir University of Economics (İEÜ) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the topic "Algorithms and the Protection of Personal Data: Issues and Consequences" was addressed by Dr. Buket Günay ALKAN, a faculty member at İEÜ Faculty of Law, in the Board of Trustees meeting hall. The meeting was also accessible online via Zoom.
